Octopuses are fascinating creatures with many unique traits. They have three hearts: two pump blood through the gills, where it picks up oxygen, and the third pumps it to the rest of the body. Additionally, octopuses have blue blood due to a copper-based molecule called hemocyanin, which is more efficient than hemoglobin in transporting oxygen in cold and low-oxygen environments. This makes them exceptionally well-adapted to their underwater habitats.
